Cesana Torinese
Overview
Cesana is one of the resorts that makes up the Milky Way ski area. Not particularly well-linked, this area has a total of about 400km of runs, of which Cesana provides 40km. Cesana's slopes mostly favour intermediate cruisers. It is the linking resort with Claviere and Montgenèvre (France) on one side and Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx on the other.
It's not a very big venue, with few bars, restaurants and hotels, while the nightlife and childcare provision are pretty limited. There is also a bit of a walk to the lifts for access to the Milky Way. It is quite an attractive venue with decent charm, but its lower altitude can mean less reliable snow compared to its neighbours. Cesana is an ideal place to stay if you have a car and are willing to drive around for varied skiing.
Overall, Cesana is a good value spot in the heart of one of the world's biggest lift-linked domains. It's also only 90 minutes from Turin…
