Lenggries/Brauneck
Overview
Lenggries is a very old town and has a very long history. Its name appeared in 1258 for the first time but, in fact, a castle named Hohenburg has been built there a long time before 1258. This castle has been re-built during the 18th century.
Lenggries is situated in Bavaria at the foot of the Brauneck mountain - a region with fresh air and picturesque views of the Alpine scenery. The famous German poet Ludwig Thoma has grown up in Lenggries.
