Nauders
Overview
Nauders is a little-known, but quite extensive ski area tucked away high on a mountain pass close to both the Swiss and Italian borders with Tyrol. The Reschen mountain pass is spectacular. Intriguingly, Nauders shares a lift pass – the Schiparadies Reschenpass – with two very un-Italian sounding resorts across the South Tyrolean border: Schöneben and Haider. It is also possible to ski into Switzerland, less than a couple of miles away. With skiing up to 2,850m, the area's snow record is usually excellent. Nauders, which has recently installed a six-seater chair, has 40 miles of skiing, most of it fairly intermediate. A free shuttle-bus goes to the local slopes, just over a mile away.
