Overview

Hotel Au Charmant Petit Lac is the newest addition to Champoluc's hotel scene. It's really convenient for accessing the slopes, with the Crest gondola about 300 metres away, your gateway to the beautiful Monterosa ski area.

The cosy interior with an open fire gives a warm ambience to come back to after a day out on the mountains. You will love heading to the lounge bar area for an after-ski drink, or a digestive before heading to bed.

The spacious bedrooms stand out with their fresh feel and mountain views, each of the bedrooms is furnished in a traditional yet modern Alpine style with warm wood and soft furnishings.

The adults only spa area is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the Monterosa Ski Area - the sauna, steam rooms, sensory showers and whirlpools are the perfect antidote to any aches. Families can enjoy the pool area which overlooks the Monterosa, and includes a jacuzzi, hydromassage seats, waterfall and Kneipp bath. For a little extra treat, massages and treatments are available for a local fee.

Classic Twin Rooms are approx. 22m² and sleep up to three people (extra bed is a single bed).

Superior Rooms are approx. 30m² and sleep up to four people with a double sofa bed.

Junior Suites are approx. 35m² and sleep two people. Rooms have a bath or shower and a lounge. The balcony has mountain views. These rooms are available on request, please call to book.

About Champoluc

Apart from the first week in January, when half of Turin descends on Champoluc, this resort remains largely uncrowded. It's part of the Monterosa Ski area, in the Aosta Valley, with a combined total of around 200km of runs. Champoluc is a very Italian venue, with good food and après-ski, which revolves primarily around restaurants and bars. It's generally pretty quiet, with top scenery and largely intermediate skiing. There's some decent off-piste for better skiers, but you will have to cover large distances to get at all of the available tougher stuff.

Champoluc makes for an ideal family resort, but one recent visitor complained of less-than-satisfactory childcare. The ski school is good, but the lack of foreign languages spoken by instructors in Italy can be a slight stumbling block. Overall, Champoluc is very much an unspoilt resort, with lots of lift-linked skiing, best suited to intermediates.
