Overview

The location is great for skiing and pretty good for après-skiing. It is next to Chez Savoy and La Moraine, a three-minute walk from the pistes, lifts and buses, and just five minutes from the church.

Les Gnellets was built a couple of decades ago in the time-honoured local way, all wood and stone, with some of the rooms tucked in under the massive roof timbers. It is a pretty, comfortable and welcoming chalet.

CHALET DETAILS

Bedroom 1:
Double (12'6" x 11') on the ground floor with en suite bathroom, separate wc and private balcony.

Bedroom 2:
Twin (12' x 10') on the ground floor, en suite bathroom with wc.

Bedroom 3:
Ground floor double (10' x 9'6"), shower & basin.

Bedroom 4:
Twin (10' x 9'6") on the first floor. Sweet room tucked under the eaves

Bedroom 5:
Twin (9' x 9'6") next door to and rather like Bedroom 4. It is actually larger than the measurements given, but part is not very accessible owing to the low beams

Bathrooms:
As well as the en-suite facilities there is a wc on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a bathroom with bath and basin and a small separate wc for rooms 4 and 5.

Sitting-Dining Room:
(22'6" x 13'6") Long and high, with sofas around the fireplace. The kitchen (not included in measurements) is off the dining area. Mezzanine (13' x 13').
Extra Beds: Two half-price single beds on the mezzanine.

Val d'Isère ski resort

Val d'Isère has not only world class skiing but also boasts some world class après ski, and charming village centre and fantastic facilities.

The original Folie Douce at the top of the Daille gondola is probably the most famous of Val d'Isère's après haunts but is far from the only one. Cocorico's raucous live music at the foot of the slopes takes things to another level entirely. For those after a more chilled vibe, Banana Bar offers this within easy reach too. For a late night there's extensive choice, the Petit Danois pub in the heart of the village spills out around 1am, with Dicks Tea Bar around the corner to keep you going almost until first lifts!

Val d'Isère' isn't just for party animals, the resort has plenty of high end choices for the more refined taste, plus families are very well catered for. Michelin starred dining can be found, plus extensive facilities. The huge leisure centre was completed in recent years and offers a fantastic off-slope experience!

In summary, Val d'Isère could top the charts - in our view it's the single best ski resort anywhere in the Alps, with something for absolutely everyone.
