Overview
The Hotel Alpenaussicht is the perfect hotel just a short walk from the centre of Obergurgl and virtually opposite the Festkogel gondola. All the rooms are tastefully decorated with modern touches to complement their classic style and balcony rooms also offer great views of the valley. The food is simply delicious too, beautifully presented Austrian dishes that explore the best ingredients of the region.

Kristall Austrian Twin room -sleeps 2- 24-30m² including a lounge area. They have an east or west facing balcony.
Alpenrose Room -sleeps 2-4- 35m² including a lounge area, additional double sofa bed (<16years) and have a west facing balcony.
Triple Room -sleeps 3- has the same space and amenities as the Alpenrose Rooms.
Single Room -sleeps 1-2- 21m² of space with a shared, west facing balcony.
Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

Obergurgl skiing
Obergurgl is great for beginners and intermediates, which, along with good ski schools, makes for an excellent family ski holiday destination. One of the highest resorts in Austria at 1930m, Obergurgl has an excellent snow record and long season. Linked to Hochgurgl, there are over 100km of runs to enjoy. For more advanced skiers and boarders, there is often some nice off-piste to get that adrenalin pumping...

The resort itself is pleasing to the eye and offers a sense of alpine charm. Off snow activities are a little sparse, although après ski is jovial without being too hectic. Hotels are generally of a high standard, with some excellent facilities and very high end dining if you're staying at the right places!
