Overview
This 4-star hotel in Kirchberg is the real Tyrolean deal. From the outside, it looks just like a classic Austrian stay, with its wooden balconies and painted frescoes. Inside, you'll find lots of warm wooden touches that give it that proper alpine vibe.
The bar area is the heart of this place. It's a friendly spot to kick back, put your feet up by the fire, or swap stories over drinks. In the mornings, you can fuel up with a big breakfast buffet loaded with tasty local treats from the Kitzbühel area. In the evening, get ready for a 4-course dinner with meat or veggie mains. Sticking with the foodie theme, there’s also a Tyrolean buffet once a week, where you can tuck into local specialities like smoked ham and dumplings.
There are plenty of facilities too. Kicking things off is a wellness area, where you can relax in the sauna, steam room, or infrared cabin. There are also free yoga classes twice a week if you fancy a little pre-ski zen. And you can’t miss the candlelit walk with schnapps tasting on Sunday evenings.

Double room with balcony – sleeps 2-3: Austrian twin bed, single sofa bed (when booked for 3 people), private shower or bath, WC and balcony.
Cots are available to hire for approx. €8 per week, payable locally.

About Kirchberg in Tirol
Some say that Kirchberg is a smaller, quieter version of Kitzbuhel. The two are lift-linked, but Kirchberg is a resort in its own right. It's a largely unplanned village, lively and crowded, with lots of young Germans, Scandinavians and Brits here to enjoy the nightlife. It's quite attractive and the hospitality is excellent. Prices are generally lower here than some more mainstream resorts in Austria, although they are still comparatively high.
The ski area has an excellent range of long red runs and challenging blacks, as well as some decent blue pistes for the less experienced skiers. Boarders have a specialist park and a half-pipe, while 'langlaufers' have 40km of trails. Because of its link to Kitzbuehel, there are occasional queues and the bus to the lift can get crowded, as well as car traffic in the village. If you want more skiing, you can always invest in the 'Kitzbuheler Alpen' pass, for nearly 700km of unlinked pistes. Accommodation and eating are mainly hotel-based, but there are some excellent mountain restaurants for lunchtimes.
Overall, Kirchberg in Tirol is a good alternative to Kitzbuehel with great nightlife and accommodation.
