Overview
Innsbruck is the ultimate city break for skiers – it’s even got its own ski area that you can reach using lifts from near the centre. The nearby ski bus stop is just a short stroll away, whisking you to the surrounding ski areas or if you fancy staying local, you can walk 5 minutes to the Hungerburgbahn funicular and the Nordkette pistes are just 30 minutes away which means you can mix slope time with city sights on the same day. Major landmarks like the famous golden roof and Hofburg palace are less than 5 minutes away on foot.
The rooms at the Grauer Bär strike a happy balance between urban sophistication and alpine charm. Modern furnishings and sleek design create a contemporary city feel, while tasteful wooden accents and cosy touches add the ski vibes – just enough to get you in the mood for clicking in and making tracks in the snow.
The hotel also has its very own steakhouse, Woodfire. If you’re happy to pay extra, pay a visit for the best Austrian beef, prepared on a charcoal grill – you’ll need to reserve this one, but it’s worth it for an extra special treat. Elegant looking, with arched ceilings, they’ve set quite an atmosphere.

About Innsbruck
Innsbruck represents a mixture of two different worlds: the development of a formerly small town to a city and a playground in the Alps. In this 800-year-old town, history and culture meet together: modern architecture, old munuments and buildings, small historic streets, high technology etc. It is a university town, a business convention and sports centre.
Having been twice the battlefield of fights for Olympic medals - in 1964 and 1976 - makes Innsbruck to a winter sports paradise. Moreover, there are many other international sports competitions in Innsbruck each year.
Innsbruck is surrounded by eight ski areas which offer a great variety in terms of altitude (from 900 to 3.200 meters above sea level), ambiance and scenery and therefore assure a truly enjoyable experience to any skier.
Many shopping opportunities, Tyrolean nights, brass band concerts and baroque operas, lederhosen and dinner jackets.
