Ski holidays were practically invented by the British, and it was in Switzerland that our skiing ancestors first came to enjoy the winter in resorts such as Davos, St Moritz and Zermatt. Swiss ski resorts have a reputation for their beauty and charm, however, a ski holiday in Switzerland doesn't just mean chocolate box chalets, cow bells and watches. With its spectacular mountains and remarkable pistes, Switzerland is one of the world's greatest skiing meccas.

So what defines the Swiss ski experience? Beautiful mountain villages, awesome scenery, rickety trains crawling up to the resorts, cheese fondues... these are just some of the most endearing features of skiing in Switzerland. The skiing itself is pretty damn good as well, with Swiss ski resorts such as Verbier offering more than a splattering of the "extreme". But the biggest pull for skiing in Switzerland is that it offers the whole deal.
It's a misconception that prices in Swiss ski resorts are high, they are no higher than other Alpine destinations. Skiing in Switzerland means that you get great value and exceptional hospitality, as well as the quintessential winter ski holiday. Top slopes, fantastic eating on and off the mountain, stunning vistas... not bad really.
